Long Term Care for Long Term Needs

Long term care Insurance (LTCI) covers care generally not covered by health insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid (although some medically necessary services are provided for people with limited resources through Medicaid). LTCI is just as important as your medical insurance because the coverage provided under these policies will likely be needed by most of us at some point in our lifetime.

Long Term Care Insurance generally covers home care, assisted living, adult daycare, respite care, hospice care, nursing homes, and Alzheimer’s facilities. With most plans, benefits are usually initiated when you need help with two or more activities of daily living (dressing, bathing, eating, toileting, continence, transferring—getting in and out of a bed or chair—and walking).
